Had a drive down from the Northland to Auckland yesterday. Stopped at Sheepworld- see picture for proof! Check out the cand floss sheep- what is that about ?
Caught the Air NZ flight to Christchurch. They are super strict with the luggage weights. Had to re pack my cases so that everything was under the limit. Not surprisingly there is a huge luggage shop right next to the baggage drop section. NO alcohol on board the flight but they still give you a sweetie prior to descent to stop the pressure in your ears.
Dashed in to the city to my hotel and then straight out to meet with my friends Jim and Dee, plus their kids Helen and Alisdar. Alisdair is off to join the NZ navy on Sunday- all one sailing vessel . Helen is getting married Nov 19 to a lovely guy named Vish.
Weather less humid and little cooler than the North Island.
Evidence of earthquake damage still present around town. Felt my first after shock this morning- yes the earth really moved .
